Hand Carved Time Capsule

For a unique and personalized gift, I carve time capsules that hold thier mystery until the day they are opened.

The time capsule is handmade and bears a chip carved design and inscription.

When a time capsule is commissioned as a gift for a newborn, family members contribute items directly to the time capsule without revealing what they've given.

The capsule is then presented to the new parents as a gift after the baby is born.

Since everyone who is asked to contribute to the Time Capsule give their item directly to me while it is being carved, the contents of the Time Capsule remains a mystery until the opening day. Contributors can only ruin the surprise by revealing what they've contributed, not what other have put in.

I use dovetail joints and a biscuit joiner
so that once the box is filled with items
and finely finished, it is seamless and
sealed until the opening day.
