Do-It-Yourself Design Tips

How can business owners get the most for their marketing budget?

When a small business buys a few images and and gets a 1000 product or service tri-fold, full-color brochures designed with a budget of $300, little do they realize that for a little more money, they can use the same images and advertising copy to create print ads, direct mail postcards or drop flyers for their salespeople or web banners.

One of the ladies I help to create panels for her photo quilts shared this tip.

When presenting a restored photo as an annivarsary or holiday gift, crafty people often hide a CD containing the newly restored digital image behind the framed print. This can be helpful down the road if the print gets damaged or if others would like a copy of the new image.

For a do-it-yourself sepia tone effect, take a copy of a black and white photo and tape it to the bottom of a pan, than drown it in coffee for a day before drying.

If you are interested in learning desktop publishing or photo restoration, I am available for tutoring sessions for individuals or groups.

If you have a tip to share, please email it to me for posting.
